Welcome to my blog!
My name is Jeffrey Neal and I am an Orange County Photographer!

This is where you can see all that I am doing in the world of photography!  On my blog you will find the latest images from all the shoots that I have, information for my clients and any other crazy ideas or projects that I have.
I have been anxiously waiting to see the clients cut of the fusion piece that Metmedia put together since we did the shoot a few weeks back. I got a message today from Jesse that it is finished, and I could not be more excited about how it turned out. This is what fusion is about, a professional photographer and a professional video team coming together and making an amazing product for the client. Check it out! If you are interested in having something like this done for your engagement shoot or wedding day please let me know. Packages are available!

So, I have a new thing that I will be starting.  Every Wednesday I am just going to do a post just because.  Why Not!!!!  I guess to share a little more about me as well as to kill the lull that happens in the middle of every week.  So here goes my first one.

The images above is one of my favorite images that I have taken this year.  While I was in Africa I literally stumbled upon this scene of a Father siting with his son waiting to hear the news if his mom is going to be ok at the hospital.  What caught my eye is the quote behind them saying "you'll never walk alone."  As I sit and spend time with this image it speaks volumes to me.  I know that all of us need other people to live and experience this life with.  I am not saying that we can not be independent, but to some degree we really do need other people.  This person for me is my wife.

The idea of having others to experience our life's triumphs and trials is a very comforting thought.  As my wife and I were talking about our future plans to start a family and owning my own photography business, I started to go down the road of "will this provide the life I want for my family"?  As I brought up other ideas, nervously thinking about other options, my wife looked up at me and said, "I don't care about money, I just want you to keep doing what you love"  In that moment all of my fears and anxieties were gone.  It was that moment that I remembered how much I love and need my wife's support.  I don't have to do this alone.  I cherish and adore my wife and her passion to be a part of my life and loves.

I love being a photographer.  I have chosen this as a profession because I am passionate about people and making images that express both my subject and myself.  I think this time every year I get into a little funk, maybe because the season is winding down, maybe because I am just crazy, but having my best friend by my side is incredible.  I also trust in God to provide what I need, to have the family I desire.  Even though we are all feeling the effects to some degree of this economy, I know that with my wife and my God, life is good and I am way more blessed than I ought to be.

As many of you know I love Ansel Adams and his work.  I also love his quotes so here is one for the middle of your week.

"In wisdom gathered over time I have found that every experience is a form of exploration."
-Ansel Adams

I usually do not post non-wedding shoots on this blog but I really wanted to share a few images from the last week.  I met Jared from Red Tail Media when he and his lovely fiancĂ© Christy booked me to shoot their wedding.  Since then Jared and I have started to collaborate on some projects with his business partner Chris.

This last week we were in LA shooting at two schools trying to get some really cool ESPN looking shots that really would get people excited about the sports programs at these private schools.  So, here are just a few from the two days.

I know I have done several post's about using the tilt-shift lens but I just thought this was very cool and really shows what you can do with this lens.  By tilting the lens it almost gives this image the feel of being a miniature.  I think it is such an awesome effect.  Even though the boys are smaller in the image it gives the allusion that they are bigger than they are.

This was taken at the wedding I shot last week with Mark Brooke, which we all know that Mark loves the tilt-shift lens.  Love to hear some thoughts.

Ok, I am headed out to shoot a wedding but just thought I would blog on this Saturday morning.
