Welcome to my blog!
My name is Jeffrey Neal and I am an Orange County Photographer!

This is where you can see all that I am doing in the world of photography!  On my blog you will find the latest images from all the shoots that I have, information for my clients and any other crazy ideas or projects that I have.
For those of you that follow my blog you know that Ashley and Ross were the winners of my 2010 wedding giveaway!  Ashley and Ross had a total of over 8,000 votes which tells me that they have a lot of friends that love them, and when I got to know them it made sense.  Ashley and Ross both have such great personalties and were meant to be together.  They got married at the Newport Beach Marriott and the whole day was perfect!

I was so stoked to learn that when I posted the blog about my giveaway the girls over at Design Visage wanted to get in on the action and gave Ashley their talent for her hair and make-up for her wedding.  Thank you so much ladies.

Side note; the pictures of the bridal party dying laughing is all due to the skills of Peter Merry!

Enjoy!  The details for the next giveaway will be announced soon, so stay tuned!!

Engagements like a BOSS!  I have shot a ton of these lately and a lot in LA which I am loving!!  These two are Maureen and Jeremy that I shot last week.  It was such a fun day.  We took the train to Union Station and it was great because I really got some good time to get to know them on the ride down.  They are such a great couple and the love they have for each other was really cute to see in person.  I have said this before but engagement sessions for me are really about getting to know your clients and building that "Chemistry" so that on the day of the wedding they are comfortable and willing to let you into one of the most intimate moments of their life.  Check em out!!!

Thank you Maureen and Jeremy for an amazing day!!

HUGE POST WARNING!!
I like getting things done, so this morning I woke up and edited the engagement session I shot yesterday up in Pasadena.  Leah and Jason are such an awesome couple.  Leah is a designer and Jason does everything from building brands, design for clothing companies and also has his own brand of clothes called Anza Clothing.  They pretty much rock.

When we talked about there engagement session Leah and Jason said they have a friend with an amazing house in Pasadena that they wanted to shoot at.  Of course, I was game and wow was the house amazing.  I always love shooting new places and engagement sessions that are not like all the rest.  We played in the house for a while and then went to down town Pasadena to finish the day.  Check out how cute these two are.

BTW, Leah and Jason were the winners of the Wedding Chicks awesome Honeymoon giveaway.

I am Leah's aunt so I really looked over the pictures closely. There was not one that I didn't like but I really loved the one in the white rockers with the dog, the black and white photo in the bathroom and the one under the tree where she is looking over her shoulder at Jason - the look on their faces just screams LOVE. The house used for the shoot was fab. The scrabble quilt was a nice touch as well. You are very creative so I can't wait to see the real deal at the wedding in Palm Springs.

On Friday I went up to LMU to meet Jenna and Bryan for their engagement session.  Jenna and Bryan wanted some images with their cute little dog Annabelle, and I am so stoked on how they turned out.  Sometimes dogs can be a little crazy but she was perfect for her portrait session.  Jenna and Bryan got all dressed up and we shot around LMU and then headed to the Santa Monica Pier to finish the evening.  It was so great getting to know these two and I am so stoked for their wedding in September.

BTW, Jenna's dress was freaking ridiculously gorgeous!
Enjoy!!

InDesign is the way to go.  I have messed around with it before but never really sunk my teeth into using it because Photoshop was working.  When CS5 came out of course I went and got the new toys and decided to give it a go.  My buddy Mark Brooke sent over his templates for me to try out and OMG it was so easy and so much more effective than Photoshop.  I know some of you are going to say, "of course it is made to design", yeah now I get it.

First off it can all be drag and drop.  Love that!!!  Second the images are so much easier to change in size and shape while keeping what you want lined up lined up.  I am going to quit with the succession now because I will be spelling out numbers for a while.  Once an image is laid down you can go back in PS and edit the image and when you go back to the album the image is there already changed just like you made it.  This is great because if you want an image to be B/W you don't have to do anything except edit the original.  Time Saver!!!  Adding strokes and changing page colors is super easy.  If you have three frames and you want one image to cover all three you just click a button and bam, the image go to all three instead of one.  There are million other reasons so if you want just ask!!

All of these were designed with Mark Brooke's templates which I highly recommend to you.  There are some pretty FUNKY designs in there.  It is also super easy to design your own templates or just add to the ones you got.  I am going to put a link at the bottom of this post so you know where to go to get these.  I hope this was helpful and if you have any questions please let me know.

This is from Jaclyn and Tyler's engagement shoot earlier in the year!

Full Discloser:  I do get a cut if you order the templates after clicking from my site!!!
